GBCI and LEED Professional Credentials - Chapter Meeting May 12th

We are delighted to announce that Beth Holst from the US Green Building Council's Green Building Certification Institute and Steve Dulmage from the Canada Green Building Council will be making a special presentation at our May Chapter Meeting on Wednesday, May 12th at Ryerson University's Ted Rogers School of Management. Please save the date for this exciting event. Event Registration details will be forthcoming in the next day or two. 

This presentation will introduce and outline the LEED professional credentials, including the LEED Green Associate and the LEED AP with Specialty.  Representatives from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) will discuss the importance of these credentials in the marketplace, for employers, and for the industry.  GBCI and representatives from the Canada Green Building council will also outline the transition of credentialing from CaGBC to GBCI for current and prospective LEED APs.  Topics covered include benefits, enrollment windows, credential status for current LEED APs, and more.

Toronto Chapter Gala - October 21st

The Gala Committee for the Greater Toronto Chapter of the CaGBC is pleased to announce that the First Annual Chapter Gala will be held on October 21, 2010.

We are pleased to announce that the Gala will be hosted at the Artscape Wychwood Barns, a venue that promises to offer a perfect backdrop and inspiration for this year’s theme, “Where Adaptive Reuse Meets Sustainable Design” We are also delighted that Architect Joe Lobko will be the guest speaker and will tell the story behind the Wychwood Barns project.

Toronto LEED Supplement

The CaGBC and the City of Toronto recently released the Toronto LEED Supplement. The purpose of the Supplement is to inform the design community who are familiar with LEED®, or who are interested in pursuing LEED certification, of the areas of similar intent between LEED and the Toronto Green Standard (TGS) and to identify those cases of selected sustainable design elements where the TGS minimum requirements are additional to LEED requirements.
