The Zero Carbon Building Standard Workshop

Are you ready to take on the Zero Carbon Building challenge?

This half-day workshop will introduce participants to the concept of zero carbon buildings, with particular emphasis on CaGBC's Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) Standard version 2. Participants will be equipped with important foundational knowledge, as well as an understanding of how the ZCB Standard could potentially be used for their current or future projects. The workshop covers the requirements of the Zero Carbon Building Standard for both new and existing buildings. This includes:
  • The zero carbon balance,
  • The zero carbon transition plan,
  • Embodied carbon,
  • Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI),
  • Energy use Intensity (EUI),
  • Peak demand, and
  • Renewable energy
This session provides the opportunity for participants to learn from a subject matter expert with a live Q&A format. Participants will have the opportunity to use activities to reinforce the course material.

Please note: This session is not intended to provide professional level knowledge on how to develop strategies or prepare supporting documentation for program compliance.

Please note that this workshop provides 3.5 LEED Continuing Education (CE) hours.
