Emerging Green Professionals

Who are Emerging Green Professionals?

The Emerging Green Professionals (EGPs) are students and young professionals committed to being leaders of change in the green building industry.  The EGP committee works to organize monthly activities, events and introductory-level educational programs specifically designed for the EGP demographic and we partner with many of the colleges and universities in the GTA to host these events.

Our mission is to support the Canada Green Building Council - Greater Toronto Chapter's (CaGBC-GTC) mission of facilitating market transformation by supporting students and new professionals through educational programs, career development opportunities, and networking events.

EGP is an official committee of the CaGBC-GTC with full representation on the board.  The committee is lead by two co-chairs and eight executive members.  We have 100 associate members which is about 30 percent of the Chapter membership.  Emerging Green Professionals are seen as the future of the Chapter and therefore enjoy the benefits of regular chapter members at a discounted annual rate.

Our committee is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers and we strongly rely on sponsors to help subsidize the cost of materials, marketing, venues and modest refreshments at our events. If you are interested in EGP sponsorship opportunities, please contact greatertorontochapter [at] cagbc.org*

If you would like to join the Committee, please review the Emerging Green Professionals Executive Committee Application

Introduction to Resilient Cities

On March 1, 2018, the Emerging Green Professionals will hold a two speaker event discussing what makes a city resilient, how Toronto is doing on the resilience scale, and what is on the agenda for our city on the path towards resilience. EGPs have the opportunity to learn about the social and physical aspects of resilience, how to get involved, and gain a higher understanding of urban resiliency.
