Who are Emerging Green Professionals?
Our mission is to support the Canada Green Building Council - Greater Toronto Chapter's (CaGBC-GTC) mission of facilitating market transformation by supporting students and new professionals through educational programs, career development opportunities, and networking events.
EGP is an official committee of the CaGBC-GTC with full representation on the board. The committee is lead by two co-chairs and eight executive members. We have 100 associate members which is about 30 percent of the Chapter membership. Emerging Green Professionals are seen as the future of the Chapter and therefore enjoy the benefits of regular chapter members at a discounted annual rate.
Our committee is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers and we strongly rely on sponsors to help subsidize the cost of materials, marketing, venues and modest refreshments at our events. If you are interested in EGP sponsorship opportunities, please contact greatertorontochapter [at] cagbc.org*
If you would like to join the Committee, please review the Emerging Green Professionals Executive Committee Application

2018 EGP Events
|March 1, 2018||
On March 1, 2018, the Emerging Green Professionals will hold a two speaker event discussing what makes a city resilient, how Toronto is doing on the resilience scale, and what is on the agenda for our city on the path towards resilience. EGPs have the opportunity to learn about the social and physical aspects of resilience, how to get involved, and gain a higher understanding of urban resiliency.
|TBD||EGP Mentor Mixer Event||
This popular event is back for another year! Industry up-and-comers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of Toronto’s biggest movers and shakers in the Green Building Industry. Leaders in Construction, Architecture, Energy, Finance and more will come out to meet with industry up-and-comers to share their stories and advice for career development. Participants will be placed into small groups, and will have the opportunity to sit down with each of the leaders.
Interdisciplinary teams 3-4 will be given one day to design and pitch their zero carbon retrofit. The team with the best 5- minute pitch will be selected by our panel of green building professionals and will attend the CaGBC Greater Toronto Chapter Gala and Awards to accept their award.
|TBD||EGP End of Year Event!||
Stay tuned for more information on what EGPs will be doing in the fall.
