Gordon is a graduate Engineer of Carleton University, a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Gord is committed to supporting the communities in which BJCC operates, and his leadership and support of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program has been a key ingredient to its success. Gord’s passion for preserving the environment for future generations has been a driving force behind BJCC’s success in this area.  In April 2008 he became one of 275 Certified Canadian Presenters of Al Gore’s “The Climate Reality Project Canada”, inspired by the Academy Award winning documentary on climate change, “An Inconvenient Truth”.  In 2009 Gord joined the Board of the “The Climate Project  Reality”, and remains actively involved on this Board today.  Gord also served on the Board of Directors with the Canada Green Building Council from May 2007 to June 2010. In 2011 he acted as the Vice Chair for the Canadian Host Committee for “Greenbuild Toronto”.  In 2012 CaGBC recognized Gord with the Industry Leadership Award.  Gord along with the CEO’s of a number of other leading Canadian Corporations ensures that industry is supporting the necessary policy changes to drive economic growth while minimizing impact to our environment.

Another area of significant focus for Gord is working on CSR initiatives that support the family unit, as it is his strong belief that a stable and nurturing family creates the roots for healthy communities.  In this regard, Gord has devoted a great deal of his energy to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.  In 2009 he became a Cabinet Leader with the CBCF’s Leaders for the Cure Program.  Gord received the Top Fundraising Award from the CBCF for his outstanding efforts for both 2010 and 2011, and since 2010 has been Co-Chair of the CBCF’s Leaders for the Cure Program.
