Course Highlights

Prepare to take your LEED® Green Associate exam and earn the internationally recognized LEED v4 Green Associate credential. CaGBC has developed this condensed course which will be delivered by highly-qualified Canadian instructors with real-life local and regional experience. This course is intended to provide you with foundational information, which will then be followed up with a post-course study plan. As with most study courses, there is additional post-classroom studying that is needed.

Instructor

Monica Polo 
Design Centre Resource Specialist, Ryerson University

A CaGBC faculty member since 2010 and a practicing LEED AP, she rejoined Ryerson University as a resource specialist in 2007, linking academia with practice through the Design Centre. She helps to bridge the gap between school and practice by engaging industry to connect with the students, reinforcing sustainable solutions agenda and wellness discussions. Working as the strategist of a student charette to support selected commissioner as AP, on Ryerson’s SLC, and now, The Daphne Coxwell Health Sciences building, she was able to apply synergistic solutions to the buildings intent of the being a ‘learning centre’ on Ryerson University’s campus.
 
Helping students through process, Monica has also been leading teams through real life client ‘charettes’. Focusing in such areas as digital HQ’s, the DMZ designs, wellness – clinics and tangible applications on most projects, and most recently, utilizing a student based ‘bootcamp’ to play in competitions and projects w/ Microsoft, and KPMG, creating interesting solutions and applications for research.

This course will be held at Ryerson University's School of Interior Design. 
Housed under the Faculty of Communication and Design, Ryerson School of Interior Design is located in a renovated post and beam warehouse in downtown Toronto. It is one of Ontario's oldest university degree granting interior design programs. Started in 1948, the School has earned widespread industry respect due to the accomplishments of faculty and alumni.
