Sustainable Intelligent Buildings are an integral component to the future of the built environment, which results in supporting energy savings, carbon reduction, improved occupant health and well-being. In the longer term, it can also help building owners gather benchmarking data that may be required by some provincial bodies. 
 
This course defines the concept of the Sustainable Intelligent Buildings and covers the Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology that enables a building to be intelligent and sustainable at the same time. Direct Current (DC) powered buildings support greater controls and functionality through PoE and various resilient design practices. This course will explore some of the advantages of intelligent buildings, as well as the level of customization that is available with both current and emerging technologies. An overview of industry leading connectivity solutions and practical applications of this technology will be demonstrated through case studies. 
 
Finally, the course includes information on how PoE projects and digital building initiatives contribute to sustainability goals and green building certifications.
