Description

EVENT DETAILS

This year’s EGP Design Charette theme is Climate Resilience in Urban Neighbourhoods. Emerging Green Professionals participating in this Charrette will compile a set of guidelines on resiliency covering the following three categories on both micro and macro scales:
  1. Community and Neighbourhood (Social)
  2. Buildings and Infrastructure
  3. Energy
Teams will design and pitch their plan for each category by proposing a guideline that must cover resiliency on both micro and macro scales. The final deliverable is the creation of a guide with innovative and actionable resilience design solutions. Teams will work towards a plan for a sustainable community that will ensure that the community is well prepared for survival in the case of an unprecedented crisis, facilitates the process of adaptation during changes in circumstances, and utilizes the collective efforts and available infrastructure in the neighbourhood to strengthen social, economic, and environmental bonds in a sustainable manner.

By focusing on one of the above-mentioned categories, the teams will demonstrate their approach to innovative design and an effective community planning strategy. The outcomes of the design charrette will result in the development of the “Climate Resilience in Urban Neighbourhood” guide. The winning 5-minute pitches will be selected by our panel of experts to receive prizes!

The design charrette will span over one full day and will culminate with presentations in the late afternoon.
